Season 12 Preview

Hey everyone , here’s what’s coming for Season 12.
Player salaries & new gear adjustments
As previously announced, we are making adjustments to player salaries so that more successful teams have higher salary costs, while newer teams have cheaper and more manageable salaries.
We are also making balance and price adjustments to current gear, while adding new special gear variants with different boosted stats and price discounts.

Gameplay balance changes
We are making several tweaks to the game engine to further improve player performance consistency and place more emphasis on team building.
This includes:
- Reducing max stats from 120 to 110
- Repurposing weapon talents
- Removing morale boost
- Adding a passive leader boost
- Adjusting weapon damage distance penalties
- Fixing enemy detection, line of sight, and visibility inconsistencies
- Several additional game engine tweaks

Smaller changes
We are also making a few quality-of-life and user experience improvements.
Schedule changes
- Championship Legends finals will now be played on Day 34, Saturday, alongside the bronze games.
This will allow us to grant all seasonal focus prizes and have Sunday available for a clean, updated season preview, as well as a free day to prepare for the next season.
- League promotion/demotion games will be moved much later in the day.
Right now, they are generated too quickly and do not give teams enough time to prepare.
Maps v2 migration status
The v2 migration is now officially finished. We want to thank everyone for your patience throughout this process.
We are not planning to make any further changes to the maps or game engine related to pathfinding or anything that could compromise tactic consistency, other than the line of sight fix mentioned above, which we hope should be an easy adjustment.
With that out of the way, we will rename the v2 maps back to their original names:
- Train
- Castle
- Mill
The older maps will be renamed to:
- Old Train
- Old Castle
- Old Mill
These old maps will then be removed completely in Season 13, Season 14, and Season 15, respectively, giving everyone enough time to migrate anything that may still be pending.
Our first priority for Season 12
We have crossed many things off our go-launch list over the past few seasons, so this feels like a good moment to pause and focus on overall bug fixing and quality-of-life improvements.
This includes:
- Stability and performance fixes
- Better notifications and messaging
- Mobile improvements
- General quality-of-life updates
We are also going to make adjustments to the sponsor mission system by adding new missions, removing some that did not quite work, and rebalancing missions that were either too easy or too hard.
We are especially excited about a new Quiz mission, which should also be a great way for players to learn more about the game and stay more informed about all things CPL.
Finally, we wanted to share some good news: this season, we got over 260 new users. That is the highest number we have had since the Season 1 release, and this happened without any marketing.
The future is bright.
