Roadmap Update – What’s Next for CPL Manager

A lot has happened since our last roadmap. We ran into major challenges, especially around the game engine and map upgrades, but those are soon behind us.
We’ve regrouped and realigned on what truly matters to move toward a full launch. Here’s what we’re focusing on:
CORE FEATURES IN PROGRESS
Seasonal Missions
We want a system-driven way to guide your progression and give purpose to every season.
You’ll be able to pick goals tied to specific competitions, for example:
- Finish top 3 in your league
- Get 15 wins in ladder
- Reach championship playoffs
Tactics Editor Tutorial
Creating tactics is one of the deepest parts of CPL, but also one of the hardest to learn.
We’re building a fully guided in-game tutorial covering everything:
- Basic waypoint setup
- Advanced behaviors (waiting, syncs, etc.)
- Utility usage (nades, flashes)
This should make the transition from beginner to advanced much smoother.
Tactics Easy Mode
We’ve heard this loud and clear: the current editor can feel overwhelming.
We’re introducing a simplified mode with:
- Presets
- Autogenerated structures
- Streamlined UI
This will allow new players to create simple tactics without diving too deep.
Introductory Phase & Missions
Already well in development.
New players will go through a structured onboarding path with:
- Limited UI at the start
- Progressive unlocks
- Guided missions
The goal is to ease players into the game before they fully enter competition.
Sponsor Weekly Missions
We’re making sponsors more engaging with the introduction of missions lasting 1–3 weeks with different focuses:
- Competitive (win X matches)
- Economic (earn X money)
- Progressive (train players)
Gear Shop Rework & Special Gear
This was already in our last roadmap and is currently under discussion for best direction.
One confirmed addition:
- Limited edition gear with unique boosts
Translations
Still planned, but low priority.
We appreciate everyone who has offered help here
Finances Page Rework
The current finances page is too basic.
We’re building a more advanced system with:
- Detailed reports
- Forecasting
- Suggestions for better management
Modular Home Dashboard
We want to improve the social and informational side of the game.
You’ll be able to customize your homepage by adding/removing modules like:
- News
- Chats
- Rankings
- Community content
WHAT'S NOT A PRIORITY (For Now)
These features are not canceled, just not part of the pre-launch focus.
XP Rework
This was important when skills had less impact, but with the current game engine, it’s no longer urgent.
New Maps (Dustline, Mirage)
Even though Dustline is well advanced:
- Map v2 upgrades already add complexity
- 3 maps are enough for launch
- Better for new players to learn the game first
Champions League
We’ve replaced this concept by improving the Championship system.
The result delivers the same competitive feeling, and we’re very happy with how it’s working.
Cosmetic Features
Cosmetics matter for long-term retention, but:
- Not a launch blocker
- Will be added progressively each season
Community Tactics
We still love this idea and we'll see it through as we think it's a great way to collaborate, we just don't think it's a launch blocker.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS
These are features and adjustments that we'll be pushing from time to time rather than in one big deploy.
Documentation
We already had a big start with the help section, we'll keep updating material
Mobile experience
We have a big list of things to tackle and we'll be adding improvements in small patches
Economy adjustments
We have several tweaks planned to improve the financial aspect of the game and how it scales for the average user.
Fame adjustments
We are looking into leveraging an activity bonus factor for streaming revenue, so there's some incentive to build your streamers from the ground up rather than buying from TL being the only alternative.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Our priority is clear:
Make CPL Manager more accessible, structured, and engaging for new players, without losing depth.
We’re excited about this direction and believe it sets a strong foundation for launch.
Thank you!
