Training

Training is the core of player development in CPL Manager. Optimize daily in the Training Room to boost your players' base skills (up to their individual skill limits). Track progress via the Report tab and pair with staff/upgrades for maximum gains. This is where average squads become elite!

How to Train Your Players

  1. Select any slot and assign a player.
  2. Choose training focus.
  3. Monitor/adjust on a daily base for maximum results.

Sessions finalize at 1:30 AM CET. View full results in the Report tab afterward.

Pro Tip: Hire a Coach for precise focuses and an Analyst for boosting your training gains + reassigning a player’s talents.

Training Progress and Decline

  • All players start to decline in their skills after turning 28 years old.
  • Make sure you monitor their skill progression through the “Report” tab regularly.
  • The older a player gets the more they decline.
  • Pro tip: Use the analysis feature to keep your old players competitive throughout the season as the analysis boost outweighs an older player’s decline. You can do 2 analysis per player per season.

Room Upgrades

Room upgrades cost a one-time fee + weekly upkeep. It will result in much better gains for your players though:

  • Hardware: Directly amplifies training results.
  • Chairs: Adds an extra training slot. This is important if you want to train a 6th player besides your main squad.
  • Pro tip: You can downsize any room upgrade at any time and will get back a chunk of the one-time fee. Use this strategically to adjust to your needs.

Training & Analysis: the math behind it

Training and Analysis are the core systems for developing your players’ skills. Understanding how they work (and where the biggest gains come from) is essential for efficient player progression.

How Training Works

Training resolves once per day at 00:30.

Every player sitting in a training slot receives one roll, and the result is added as progress.

100 progress = 1 Skill Point (SP)

The Formula

  • base = (coach + age + skill value + hardware) × 12
  • boost = (analyst + screen) × 12 ← only while an analysis session is active
  • prodigy = (base + boost) × 0.25 ← only for players with the Prodigy special ability
  • progress = base + boost + prodigy

The × 12 is the hours trained per session, and it is the same for everybody, it is not something you can upgrade. It is why each point of a modifier is worth exactly 0.12 skill points a day.

What Feeds the Base (Always Active)

These values apply to every player currently in a training slot:

Coach – Player Training

Level Adds Per day
No coach 0 0.00 SP
1 0.5 0.06 SP
2 1 0.12 SP
3 1.5 0.18 SP
4 2 0.24 SP
5 2.5 0.30 SP

Training Room – Hardware

Level Adds Per day
1 1 0.12 SP
2 2 0.24 SP
3 3 0.36 SP

Player Age

Age Adds Per day
Under 18 3 0.36 SP
18–23 2 0.24 SP
24–28 1.5 0.18 SP
29–35 1 0.12 SP
36+ 0 0.00 SP

Current Skill Value (of the skill being trained)

Skill Range Adds Per day
Below 30 2 0.24 SP
30–60 1 0.12 SP
61–89 0.5 0.06 SP
90+ 0 0.00 SP

Young players with low skills gain significantly faster because age and skill-value bonuses stack.

Analysis Boost (The Big Lever)

The boost only applies while a player has an active analysis session.

Analyst – Training Overclock

Level Adds Per day
No analyst 0 0.00 SP
1 2 0.24 SP
2 4 0.48 SP
3 6 0.72 SP
4 8 0.96 SP
5 10 1.20 SP

Analysis Room – Screen

Level Adds Per day
1 0 0.00 SP
2 5 0.60 SP
3 10 1.20 SP

Important: Screen level 1 gives zero bonus. You only start gaining from the screen when you upgrade to level 2.

How Analysis Sessions Work

  • Only one player can be analysed at a time.
  • A session lasts 7 days, then ends automatically and must be restarted.
  • The boost only applies on days the player is also sitting in a training slot.

A fully maxed Analyst (level 5) + Screen (level 3) adds 2.40 SP per day, roughly twice as much as the entire base system combined.

Performance Review (Separate Analyst Function)

Independent of the analysis room, a hired Analyst also generates skill points every night through Performance Review:

Analyst Level SP per day
1 0.20
2 0.40
3 0.60
4 0.80
5 1.00
    • Only one random player per team receives this point each night.
    • The player must have played a match the previous day and still have room left in at least one skill.
    • Academy players are excluded.

What Does Not Affect Skill Gains

    • Chair upgrades (they only increase capacity / reduce energy cost)
    • Coach’s Versatility Training or Communication skills
    • Analyst’s Career Refinement skill
    • Hours trained (fixed at 12 for everyone)

    Example Progression:

    Setup Base Boost Total
    No coach, age 20, skill 45, hardware 1 0.48 0.00 0.48 SP
    + Level 3 Coach 0.66 0.00 0.66 SP
    + Hardware 3 0.90 0.00 0.90 SP
    + Analysis (Analyst 3, Screen 1) 0.90 0.72 1.62 SP
    + Screen 3 0.90 1.92 2.82 SP
    + Analyst 5 0.90 2.40 3.30 SP

Maximum possible (17-year-old, skill under 30, everything maxed): 3.66 SP/day
With the Prodigy special: 4.58 SP/day

    Tips for Training Mastery

    • Daily Check-Ins: Review training progress regularly for best possible gains.
    • Focus Strategy: Prioritize top skills first (Aim, Quickness, Handling, Determination, Awareness.).
    • Budget Wisely: Upgrade Hardware first and Chair only if you really need it.
    • Staff Essential: Coach + Analyst = more efficient progress.
    • Upgrade the Analysis Screen before maxing the Analyst. Going from screen 1 → 3 is worth a full 1.20 SP/day by itself.
