Armor Penetration & Range modifier

Armor penetration

Lets part of your damage ignore the enemy’s vest. The higher the armor penetration, the more damage goes directly to HP. The rest is absorbed by armor, unless the armor runs out.

Example:

  • Damage: 100
  • Armor penetration: 40%
  • Enemy vest: 50

  • 40 damage ignores armor
  • 60 damage tries to hit the vest
  • 50 is absorbed by the vest
  • 10 overflows because the vest runs out

  • Final HP damage: 50
  • Vest damage: 50

Range modifier

Affects how well a weapon keeps its damage over long distances. A higher range modifier means the weapon loses less damage when shooting far away. A lower range modifier means damage drops off harder at long range.

Example:

  • Base damage: 100
  • Distance: close range
  • Final damage: 100

  • Base damage: 100
  • Distance: long range
  • Good range modifier: maybe 85 damage
  • Bad range modifier: maybe 65 damage

It starts at 160px, then slowly ramps up, scaling more aggressively at longer distance.
