Loadouts

Loadouts are your blueprint for round-by-round dominance in CPL Manager, predefined buy orders and weapon preferences that dictate what your players purchase and prioritize in the different rounds.

Found in the Tactics Overview > Loadouts tab, they let you tailor economy management to your strategy, ensuring seamless execution in pistols, ecos, and full buys. Master loadouts to force-buy smarter, eco harder, and out-economy opponents!

What Are Loadouts?

Loadouts control your team's automatic buys at the start of every round, based on available Money and round type. They're flexible, per-player customizable, and can even be assigned per tactic for hyper-specific scenarios (e.g., eco rushes).

  • Core Components:
    • Buy Order: Sequential list of items (weapons, armor, nades, defuse kit) purchased top-to-bottom.
    • Weapon Preferences: Priority ranking, players always choose the highest affordable option.
    • Required: If any component of the buy order marked as required cannot be afforded by the player, and that loadout is set as an override for a specific tactic, then the tactic will not be played.
  • Round Types:
    • Standard: Full-buy rounds (rifles, armor, nades).
    • Pistol: Pistol rounds (the first rounds on each side are Pistol rounds)
    • Eco: Minimal buys (pistols, SMGs, select utilities or nothing).

Pro Tip: Default loadouts work for beginners, tweak once you're comfortable with economy waves. Check the bottom of this article for examples of custom loadouts.

How Buy Orders Work

The buy order is a prioritized shopping list your players follow religiously:

  1. Top-to-Bottom Purchase: Players buy items in sequence, skipping duplicates:
    • Already have a primary? Skip secondaries.
    • Own a flash? No second flash.
  2. Replacement Rule: Players always upgrade to higher-preference weapons if affordable (e.g., swap Deagle for AK if possible).
  3. Unaffordable Items: Skip to the next, ensures they buy something viable.
  4. Per-Player Customization: Set unique loadouts per player for maximum flexibility.

Weapon Preferences

Within buy orders, preferences rank weapons by desirability:

  • Players target the highest priority they can afford.
  • Downgrades automatically (e.g., can't buy AK? Grab Galil, SMG or Pistol next).
  • Per-Tactic Loadouts: Assign unique setups in the tactic editor (e.g., eco tactic gets pistol-only loadout).
  • Real Matches: Loadouts auto-apply, watch replays to analyze and refine.
  • Pro tip: If you want players to pick up the enemy weapons, prioritize the other side’s weapons higher in the priority list. E.g. for T-side set the M4 higher than the AK. For CT-side set the AK higher than the M4. See below for concrete examples.

    Connecting Tactics & Loadouts

Please note that these are examples and not recommendations. Play around, analyse and find the optimal loadout for you and your team.

You can connect any of your tactics to any of your loadouts. When you do this, that specific tactic will always be played using the connected loadout (instead of the default one). This is especially useful for:

    • Eco rounds: Force pistol-only or SMG buys.
    • AWP setups: Ensure your AWPer always buys the AWP.
    • Role-specific plays: Give your entry fragger extra utilities & armor while the rest go rifles only.

This connection is highly customizable and can be set as granularly as on a per-player basis.

    Required Items Rule

If any component of the buy order is marked as required, and that loadout is set as an override for a specific tactic, then the tactic will not be played if the player cannot afford any of those required items. This safety feature prevents situations where a player shows up with the wrong gear (e.g., no AWP on an AWP-only tactic), forcing the game to fall back to a different tactic instead.
