The general CPL Manager League setup (including seeding, promotions, demotions, etc.) keep things fair, balanced, and exciting across every league tier in CPL Manager. Each season, leagues are restructured to mix skill levels, prevent stacking by strong communities, and reward consistent performance through promotions and relegation matches. This system ensures you face varied opponents while giving clear paths to climb (or fall) between league tiers.
General Rules for All Tiers & League Divisions
- Community Limit: No more than 3 teams from the same community get placed in any single league.
- Balanced Distribution: Teams are spread evenly based on current ranking (Rank Points), creating a mix of top, mid, and lower-ranked teams in each league.
- Goal: Avoid top-heavy or bottom-heavy groups, everyone gets fair competition.
Iron, Bronze, and Silver League Specific Rules
- No ranking-based distribution, placement is more randomized (with community limits still enforced).
- Bot teams allowed, common in lower tiers to help new managers learn mechanics, tactics, and match prep without high-stakes pressure.
Master League Specific Rules
- Top 4 forced separation: The 4 highest-ranked teams of the previous Master leagues are force-separated, one per league to keep things fresh and interesting for the top performers.
- No more than 3 teams from the same league as last season, prevents long-term group stagnation and more scenarios of playing the same teams over and over again.
Higher tiers (A & S) follow stricter balancing to maintain elite competition.
Promotion & Demotion Relegation Matches
Promotion and demotion are decided via special relegation matches in Emerald, Diamond and Master Leagues on day 30 (one day after the final regular league game) for teams that land on the relegation spots marked in the standings table.
- Format: Gauntlet best-of-3 series.
- Matchup: Two 2nd placed teams battle eachother first to decide who faces the higher division 8th in a decider match.
- Outcome:
- Winner → promoted (or stays in higher league).
- Loser → demoted (or stays in lower league).
