The Tactics Simulator is one of the most powerful tools in CPL Manager for perfecting your tactics. Integrated directly into the tactic creation interface (you find it by clicking on the play button when within the tactic creation tool on the top right), it lets you preview exactly how your players will move, position themselves, and interact based on the waypoints, nades, retakes, etc. that you’ve set.
Testing in the Simulator saves you countless real matches and helps you spot flaws, optimize timings, find the perfect nade spots and build a deep, adaptable playbook before testing a newly created tactic in the wild.
How the Simulator Works
- Open or create any tactic in the Tactics tab.
- Click the Simulate button (play button on the top right).
- The simulation runs with all player skills set to 110. This gives you a clean, idealized view of your waypoint paths, sync timings, afterplants, and team flow.
- You can manually set death times for individual players (e.g., to test waitpoint reactions or scenarios).
Important Note: Because skills are fixed at 110 in the sim, a tactic can sometimes behave slightly differently in real matches (especially if your players have lower or higher skill values than 110). Use the Simulator as a foundation, then validate with scrims and real games.
Cooldowns & VIP Tiers
The Simulator is available to all managers, but its full extent depends on your VIP status:
- Basic (Free)
Simulate once every 5 minutes
Basic death-time control is included.
- VIP Standard
Simulate once every 1 minute
Unlock the ability to test your current tactic against any other tactic you own. This is perfect for checking counters, angle holds, or specific matchups.
- VIP Premium
Simulate once every 10 seconds
Fastest testing speed, ideal for managers who maintain large tactic libraries and want to test & iterate rapidly.
Pro Tip: The fastest cooldown (10 seconds) is especially valuable when fine-tuning multiple variants or stress-testing against your entire playbook.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
If your cooldown seems longer than expected:
- Check your VIP status
Make sure your subscription is active and matches the tier you expect (Standard or Premium). VIP can expire, double-check in your account settings.
- Verify your device clock
Ensure your Windows or mobile clock is set to automatic time (not manual). The cooldown is server-synced using real time, a wrong local clock can cause the timer to appear stuck or delayed.
- Sometimes you have to wait an extra second or two after the cooldown is over for the system to work.
The Simulator is your practice range, use it relentlessly to turn good tactics into unbeatable ones.
