Tactics Overview

The Tactics are kind of the brain of your team, where you craft strategies that outsmart opponents and turn matches in your favor. Great tactics and a deep playbook are often the difference between ladder climbs, tournament victories and early exits. Spend time here to master the tactic creator, experiment with loadouts, and unlock leader perks as you level up your ingame leader. Whether you're a beginner tweaking default settings or a pro optimizing Ecos, this is your competitive edge!

Main Tactics

Your central hub for building custom tactics. Success in CPL Manager hinges on creating originals that crush foes, tactics have the heaviest impact on match outcomes.

• Design your tactics with waypoints, find unique positions, generate attack and defense flows for each map.
• Pro Tip: Start simple: Beat the default tactics first. Scrim real opponents, study their builds for inspiration, and iterate. For a quick waypoint tutorial, check the Waypoint Guide.

Build depth: It is recommended to have multiple tactics per map and side for adaptability. Make sure that you cover all areas of the map within your different tactics to outplay the opponent.

Afterplants

Save and reuse your favorite afterplant points (post-plant strategies for the T side) to keep opponents guessing.

• Store top setups here.
• Assign them to specific tactics for easy use.
• This is an optional Feature. You can skip it entirely and set afterplant points directly in your main tactics if preferred.

Pro Tip: Rotate afterplants regularly to avoid predictability. Your opponents can save demos of matches against you and share them to their community mates for preparation.

Advanced (Eco Settings)

Fine-tune eco rounds and the KPIs that determine when to eco based on your loadouts and strategy.

• Adjust the prerequisites for Eco or Standard rounds.  
• Beginner Tip: Stick to defaults until you're comfy with loadouts, dive in later for meta edges.

Leader

Your in-game leader (Lineup slot 1) earns leadership points from official matches. Spend them on perks that boost team performance.

• Perks unlock progressively; full access at leadership level 15.
• Reset anytime, experiment freely to find your optimal build.
• You have Lineup A and Lineup B to use for e.g. switching between leaders and their perks but this is 100% optional. You can also just play with Lineup A or B all the time. 

Loadouts

Set per-player buy orders spanning pistols, rifles, nades and armor for the different round types.

• Customize globally or per tactic (e.g., eco specific, pistol round specific, etc.).
• Watch replays to spot weaknesses; test weapons for player fit and keep your round economy in mind.
• Key Rule: Balance costs, avoid overbuying. Prioritize flashes/nades and the weapons that will win you the round.

Pro Tip: Eco loadouts save for full buys. Full buys need rifles + utils. Ecos should be played until you have enough money to buy x of your players the full buy equipment.
